Immunization and Wellness Care
We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effot invested in wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet. Our wellness package includes a comprehensive physical exam, internal parasite test, heartworm test, vaccinations, spay and neuter packages, as well as specialized blood tests for all life stages.
Dental Care
Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasonic to clean each tooth thoroughly- above and below the gum lines. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface which helps prevent plaque build up. Fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel and reduce tooth sensitivity. The dental procedure does require the dog to be put under anesthesia so we always perform pre-surgical blood work prior to the procedure.
Boarding and Day Boarding
Pets are like our children- we feed them, nurture them, and lavish them with attention. Our highly qualified kennel attendents do the same when you can't be there. We provide tender loving care, such as brushing and cuddling as well as outdoor playtime three times a day to keep them happy and active. We also offer day boarding for clients who need a place for their pets just during the day.
Baths and Nail Trims
Treat your pet to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris, and doggie odor- your pet will feel refreshed and revitalized. We use Aloe and Oatmeal shampoo which does not affect topical flea preventative (provided it was applied over 24 hours ago), and helps control dry skin. If your pet is scratching our medicated baths contain soothing agents that stop the itch. Bath services also include a nail trim.
Emergency and Critical Care
In an emergency, seconds count. Our experienced staff is backed by our mobile resuscitation unit, stocked and equipped to administer the ABC's of basic life support - Airway, Breathing, and Circulation/Cardiac Compressions. Emergency care is only offered during regular business hours. If an emergency occurs after 5:30pm or before 7:30am we refer our clients to the Pet Emergency and Referral Center on Kingston Pike. Their number is 865. 694.4440.
Hospice/ Euthanasia Services
Saying goodbye to a long time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pets comfort and dignity. We offer a cremation serivce through Resthaven for those who prefer that option.
Internal Medicine
We cover all area of internal medicine, including cardiology, opthalmology, neurology, dermatology, gastroenterology, oncology and endocrinology to name a few. We also have a large sterile surgery room where we perform spays and neuters as well as mass removals, exploratories, retrievals, cessections, and orthopedic surgery.
Microchipping
Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. While name and rabies tags can also be helpful in returning your pet to you, they can come off but microchips cannot. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery. You can check out the Home Again website at public.homeagain.com
Nutritional Counseling
Some pets require special foods, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. There are so many different foods available to pets today, and walking down any pet food aisle can be daunting. Our staff is available to help you choose the best diet based on your pets' needs to keep them happy, healthy, and active.
Pain Management
Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. All of our surgical procedures and dental packages include pain medication for the first few days at home. While most procedures are in and out the same day, we want our care of the animal to continue even when they are not in the office. We also offer pain management for injuries as well as for our arthritic companions.
Radiology
Our clinic offers film x-rays to assist our veterinarian and staff in evaluating musculoskeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. We perform OFA certification x-rays, which are sent to a specialist for evaluation, as well as general x-rays included in the geriatric wellness package.

Avian Medicine
Providing proper medical care for birds requires different training and skills. We employ staff who possess experience in the care and treatment of birds. Our Veterinary can advise you as to the dietary and medical needs, as well as maintenece, hygine for your feathered friend.
Reptile Medicine
Reptiles also require different care than our furry friends. Our staff is well versed in the care of reptiles, including snakes, chameleons, geckos, and iquanas. While they do not need yearly visits or vaccinations, they can get sick. When that happens, we are here to make them better.
Small Exotic Mammal Medicine
Small exotics are becoming more and more popular. Our veterinarian sees rabbits, ferrets, sugar gliders, rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, and hedgehogs. While ferrets do require the rabies vaccination, the others do not. We offer wellness checks for all of them and can care for them when they are sick. We do not see primates.
